About SwiftMEP

I didn't build SwiftMEP because I wanted to launch a tech startup. I built it because I was tired of spending my nights and weekends staring at blueprints, highlighter in hand, counting fittings until my eyes crossed.

My name is Jason, and I am a Red Seal HVAC Technician with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the MEP industry. I haven't just looked at drawings; I've lived them. I've been in the crawl spaces, I've managed the crews, and I've bid on thousands of projects. Over the last two decades, I watched technology advance in every other industry, yet when it came to estimating, we were still stuck doing things the hard way—manually counting every elbow, tee, and linear foot of pipe.

I tried the other software out there. The problem was obvious: they were built by software developers who had never turned a wrench. They didn't understand the nuance of the trade. They couldn't tell the difference between a saddle tap and a reducing tee, and their tools were clunky, generic, and slow.

If you are in the trades, you know the grind. A comprehensive manual takeoff for a decent-sized project can easily eat up 8+ hours. That is time you aren't spending on the job site or with your family.

That is why I created BidSwift, the first product from SwiftMEP.

BidSwift is an AI-powered takeoff tool, but it wasn't trained on generic images. It was trained on 20 years of real MEP experience. It reads blueprints the way a tradesperson does. It identifies materials, counts quantities, and organizes your takeoff automatically.
